Species

Characters are one of the following species which each have extra rules.

Human

Success rate to hear sound when listening at a door: 1 in 6.

They can locate secret Passages on a roll of a 1 or a 2 on a d6.

Dwarf

Dwarves can only be of the Fighter Vocation, and they may never progress beyond the 6th level (Myrmidon).

Success rate to hear sound when listening at a door: 2 in 6.

They can locate secret Passages on a roll of a 1 or 2 on a d6.

Dwarf Saving Throws

Dwarves have the following unique saving throws that replace their Vocation’s saving throws:

Dwarves will notice slanting passages, traps, shifting walls and new construction in underground settings.

They speak the following extra languages: Gnome, Kobold, and Goblin.

Fluff

Dwarves are sworn enemies of Gnolls.

Elves

Elves can be either Fighter or Mage. They cannot be a Cleric.

They can switch between Fighter and Mage between adventures, but not during a single game.

They can use all weapons while they are a Fighter including all magic weapons.

They can use Arcane spells while they are a Mage.

They can use magic armour while they are a Mage or a Fighter.

They are limited to 4th level Fighter (Hero) and 8th level Mage (Warlock).

They speak the following extra languages: Elf, Orc, Hobgoblin, and Gnoll.

They will hear if there is sound when listening at a door on a 1 or 2 on a 1d6.

They can locate secret Passages on a 1 to 4 on a d6 roll.

Elves that pass any secret door may sense that something is there. The referee should secretly roll 1d6 in these cases. A result of 1 or 2 means the elf becomes aware something is there.

Halfling

Can only be of the Fighter Vocation.

They are limited to 4th level Fighter (Hero).

They will hear if there is sound when listening at a door on a 1 or 2 on a 1d6.

They can locate secret Passages on a 1 or 2 on a d6 roll.
